NATIVE AMERICAN FLUTES

While known almost universally as part of Native American music and culture today, there is little record of these flutes before exploding onto the scene in the late 16th and early 17th centuries. What sets the modern Native American Flute apart is a ducted tone hole or “fipple”, giving the instrument a very distinctive timbre or voice.
